Ancient seal of the city of Verona, which is supposed to represent the Palace of Theodoric in that city. Besides the word Verona, inscribed in the façade; round the seal are these words, half Roman and half Gothic, and separated by a cross: Est justi latrix urbs haec et laudis amatrix.
