Lutyens' work abounds in dualities. The duality of the entrance facade of the castle at Lambay, for instance, is resolved by the inflecting shape of the opening in the juxtaposed garden wall.
Robert Venturi, Complexity and Contradiction in Architecture (1966), p. 95.

In contemporary architecture rare examples of inflection are found in the vestigial broken pediments of Moretti's apartment house on the Via Parioli. They partially resolve the duality of the pair of wings which distinguish sets of apartments.
Robert Venturi, Complexity and Contradiction in Architecture (1966), p. 95.

The subtly balanced duality of Wright's Unity Temple is devoid of inflections unless the directional entrance pedestal is one.
Robert Venturi, Complexity and Contradiction in Architecture (1966), p. 95.
