Fra Andrea Manfredi
architect and military engineer.
Andrea built the church of S. Maria dei Servi at Bologna. He appears also to have assisted in designing the great basilica of S. Petronio in that city. (See Antonio di Vicenzo.) He assisted in the fortification of Bologna.
Peter Parler
architect; b. about 1333; d. about 1397.
Parler came of a stonecutter's family in Cologne (Germany). He was architect of the choir and nave of the cathedral of Prague, in Bohemia, begun 1392. He was assisted and succeeded by his sons, Nicolaus, Johann, and Wenzel. His bust stands in the triforium gallery of the cathedral of Prague. He is also known as Peter von Gmund.
