Henry Flitcroft
architect; b. August 29, 1697; d. March 5, 1769.
A son of Jeffry Flitcroft, gardener of King William III, at Hampton Court (England). May 14, 1726, he entered the office of the Board of Works, and in 1758 was appointed comptroller of the Board, succeeding Ripley. He was succeeded by Sir William Chambers.
