Re: koolhaas shopping
The sliced (in five pieces) Kahn monograph, I Can't Stand the Sight of Blood, 1984, was an exercise in iconoclasm. I was doing a variety of iconoclastic things back then specifically because of the iconoclastic nature with which CAD was then invading the architecture profession. When first exhibited, each piece of I Can't Stand the Sight of Blood was within its own plastic zip-lock bag. When I was asked by one of the Temple University faculty what the plastic bags represented, I answered, "Preservation."
