Thinking of Pisa and sketches by Kahn, he probably took off his glasses to sketch. Doing that he would probably get a very abstract vision because his eyes were very bad. I wonder if it's true.
It was raining when [we were] at the palazzo Medici. There were four rain spouts pouring run-off directly into the court. It was very dramatic and sensible...
Mass in San Lorenzo--people are everywhere. The pews are very functional.
Uffizi was shorter than I thought it was from the pictures I have seen. The open arcade at the end was also nicer than expected.
