In deed of respect the Cavalier Gio. Batt(ist)a Piranesi D. D. D.
Ancient marble altar found in the ruins of Villa Adriana in the site known as Pantanello. Its large Basin is ovate, and supported by two elegantly worked hippogriffs, and corresponding to the Happy Century of the arts at the time of Hadrian. This monument can be seen in the collection of antiquities of Cavalier Piranesi. The base that supports this altar was designed from an ancient monument that can be seen on the facade of Palazzo Barberini towards the Garden.

Sun rose clear but immediately after thick clouds intercepted him. Wind NEerly. Therm. 38°. About 9 it began to snow and soon increased to a thick storm. It ceased in about an hour, ground barely covered. Wind drawing to NW and the clouds arranged as if a strong wind were coming thence. Upon the division of our crop of wheat between my tenant and me about 2 weeks ago, it appeared I had before had 38 1/2 bushels this had the further quantity of 45 bushels measured off in full of my share -- Of these I sent last week 11 bushels to Moses Highgate to be ground. He weighted it and found 59 lbs[?] per bushel,
10 bushels clear of 1 for toll an equal of 590.
I received this day 3 bags flour W. ... 365 lbs.
2 bags bran / I allow 1 1/2 hundred lbs. per bag ... 155
he sent me 1/4 lbs flour, which he now [?] ... 520 + 28
deficiency 42 lbs. or 4.2 per bushel (surely too much) 548.
A clear bull's eye appeared in the NW, which by noon drew all the clouds to leeward, and sky became clear, till others rising overspread it with light broken clouds with intervals of sunshine. Therm. rose only to 40°. The wind rises very high in the evening.
